I recently went for my 10 year H-1B stamping in hyderabad in august end. I got the 221g slip and as in your case, the officer retained my passport. They requested info about my company which I duly provided in a weeks time. I got my visa approved and passport in my hands in early november so it took about 70 days. Obviously every case is different so I cannot say how long your case would be pending but my brother had to wait about 60 days for his visa stamping.
My company was ok with me staying back for the stamping. Though I have AP/EAD (July 2007 filer) I used the opportunity to spend time with my family. I came back last week with no issues at the POE. Good luck with your case
Can you please let us know which city and when exactly? Also, do you know if it was a TAL case? I am in a permanent position but in the semiconductor industry. My company does not take absences of more than 2/3 weeks easily. I am planning a trip to India soon. I would like to understand the risks involved. No AP/EAD.

Wow! one usually gets an RFE for these, never heard of a NOID for a TB test not taken. I would suggest take a TB test and if it is positive submit the X-ray as well. I guess you should get your approval soon after.
TB test are mandatory now for medicals and these are pretty common RFE to get (again never saw an NOID tho!)

Hi,

The Visa officer said all my documents are good but still issued me a yellow form that says that administrative process is required for my case. She gave me back my passport and the yellow form. The application is pending.
I have a valid EAD and AP. Is it possible for me to abandon the H1 process and enter US on EAD and AP.
I am looking for legal expertise here.

My situation is as under : " My case is in removal proceedings for violating H1b status for 3 months due to laid off situation, i am working on H1b now and my labor is approved and I-140 is pending, now my priority date is become current for I-485 filing", now who will adjudicate my case, INS or EOIR court, where will i file my I-485.
will court close my removal proceedings based on PD current..
i will really really apprecate your help.
As yours is a really serious matter. You should take the advice of some attorney in fact as time available to know about the whole thing and then applying for I 485, in case, is very less.

Besides the wait will never end even if i get my i140 approved today.............

That's great info as a starting point. What I can safely say is that my panning technique is non-existent, so I'm probably safer with shorter shutter times. If the weather improves a bit I'll try it at tomorrow evening's practice session.
